ISLAMABAD – July 17, 2025: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced the results of its Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examinations 2024, showcasing outstanding academic performance by students from the Potohar region. Female students, particularly from private institutions, once again led the charts, securing top positions in both science and humanities streams.

The results reflect the rising academic standard in the region, particularly among female students, who continue to outperform in key examination categories.
According to the FBISE data:
- Class 10 (SSC-II): Out of 137,680 candidates, 121,120 students passed, resulting in a commendable 88% pass rate.
- Class 9 (SSC-I): Of the 146,348 students who appeared, 89,882 cleared the exams, making for a 62% pass percentage.
Top Scorers – Science Stream
Top positions in the science group were dominated by students from Rawalpindi, Wah Cantt, and Attock:
- 🥇 Meryum Nadeem – Army Public School & College, Westridge-III, Rawalpindi – 1,093 marks
- 🥈 Amna Nasir – Lahore Grammar School, Wah Cantt – 1,087 marks
- 🥉 Saleha Saqib – Emalah Foundation School & College, Rawalpindi
🥉 Haniya Aiman Waheed – Army Public School & College, Attock – 1,083 marks (shared)
Top Scorers – Humanities Stream
The humanities group also saw competitive scores:
- 🥇 Sana Bibi – Shining Star Public School – 1,045 marks
- 🥈 Abdul Rehman – Institute of Islamic Sciences – 1,029 marks
- 🥉 Mohammad Sufyan Ahmad – Institute of Islamic Sciences – 1,022 marks
Key Observations
Despite impressive results across the board, none of the public schools in Islamabad secured any of the top positions. However, their overall results remain strong, with Class 10 students achieving 94% pass rate in science and 92% in humanities.
For Class 9, Islamabad’s public schools reported a 60% pass rate, highlighting the need for better academic support in earlier stages of education.
Federal Education Minister’s Remarks
Federal Education Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, who attended the result declaration ceremony, praised the performance of the position holders.
“It is inspiring to see young girls lead academic success across various boards. Pakistan is fortunate to have a youth population full of talent and promise. Investing in education is investing in our national future,” he stated.

Meryum Nadeem, science group topper, said:
“My dream is to become a doctor and serve those in need. I thank my teachers and parents for their constant support.”
Sana Bibi, the top scorer in humanities, shared:
“You don’t need long study hours. Focused learning and smart preparation make all the difference.”
FBISE Emphasizes Academic Integrity
FBISE Chairman Dr. Ikram Ali Malik addressed the conduct of the exam, revealing that 129 cases of unfair means were reported this year. He emphasized the board’s ongoing efforts to ensure that examinations are transparent and fair.
