DC Sialkot Extends Summer Vacations in All Educational Institutes

The Deputy Commissioner of Sialkot has ordered the closure of all educational institutions in the district following severe flooding that left school premises waterlogged.

According to the official notification, both public and private schools will remain shut from September 1 to September 5 as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff.

The order was issued in line with instructions from the Punjab School Education Department after stagnant water was reported in several institutions across the district.

The decision was communicated to the Commissioner of Gujranwala Division, the Chief Executive Officer (Education) Sialkot, the Deputy Director (Colleges) Sialkot, and the Section Officer (ACAD-I) of the Punjab School Education Department. Heads of all schools in Sialkot have also been directed to comply.

Authorities said the step was necessary to prevent health and safety risks as cleanup operations continue in flood-affected areas.
