Summer Vacations Extended in Okara Schools Located in 32 Areas

The Deputy Commissioner of Okara has announced the closure of schools in flood-affected areas of the district until September 7, following warnings of dangerous flooding in the Sutlej and Ravi rivers.

According to the official notification, both public and private schools located in such areas will remain shut to protect the lives of students. The directive comes in response to rising water levels and the risk of worsening conditions.

District authorities said the decision is necessary to ensure safety and will remain effective until further review. Schools are scheduled to reopen after September 7 if conditions improve.
